About Menucha

Menucha is a private two-bedroom retreat in Somerset West, Western Cape, South Africa. It is offered for short stays of rest and restoration — not as a hotel or instant-booking marketplace listing.

Enquiries and booking confirmation

Submitting preferred dates on this website is an enquiry only. It does not reserve the property or create a binding booking.

A booking becomes confirmed only when we reply in writing (email or WhatsApp) accepting your dates, guest numbers, and the applicable rate, and you complete any requested deposit or payment. Rates shown on the site are indicative and may change until confirmation.

Minimum stay is two nights (five nights from 12 December to 13 January); maximum stay is twenty-one nights unless we agree otherwise in writing. Peak-season dates are charged at the peak rate shown on the booking calendar.

Payment

Payments may be collected via Paystack or another method we specify in your confirmation. Full payment or a deposit schedule will be set out when we confirm your stay. Failure to pay by the stated deadline may result in cancellation of the hold on your dates.

Guests and occupancy

Maximum occupancy is four registered guests unless we agree otherwise in writing before arrival. Only registered guests may stay overnight. Day visitors are welcome in reasonable numbers, subject to house rules and quiet hours.

House rules and guest agreement

Guests must follow the house rules summarised on the Guest Portal and the full Guest Agreement. Key points include quiet hours (10:00 pm–7:00 am), a smoke-free home, and check-out by 10:00 am unless a late departure was arranged.

Breach of house rules or the Guest Agreement may result in early termination of the stay without refund, and liability for damage or extra cleaning.

Check-in and check-out

Arrival and departure times are confirmed in your booking note. Check-out is by 10:00 am unless otherwise agreed. Keys, gate codes, and access instructions are shared only for confirmed stays.

Damage and care of the property

Guests are responsible for reasonable care of Menucha during their stay. You may be charged for damage beyond normal wear, missing items, or cleaning required beyond a standard turnaround after a confirmed stay.

Cancellations and refunds

Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Cancellation Policy.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Menucha and its operators are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, personal injury, or loss of belongings arising from your stay, except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct. Guests use the property, outdoor areas, and parking at their own risk and should secure valuables.

Privacy

How we collect and use guest information is described in our Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to new enquiries and bookings made after the last-updated date. Material changes affecting an already confirmed stay will be communicated where reasonably possible.
